40 years of Familiar Faces of Chirk

A selection of pictures from my ongoing collection of Familiar Faces of Chirk. Started forty years ago (1981) and still continuing today, the collection is constantly being updated and added to. When viewing these pictures it must be remembered that they are not formal portraits, they are mostly “snapshots” of people taken whenever and wherever I met them. Some of the faces may not be familiar to younger viewers as many of the subjects have since passed away, thus galvanising my idea to record as many faces as I can for posterity. With the collection already numbering into the hundreds it will become an important historical record of social history for future generations. As 2021 was the fortieth year of my perpetual everlasting project, it seemed like a good time to start sharing some of my pictures. More pictures will be added as my collection continues. These selected pictures are part of my personal collection of photographs of familiar faces of Chirk, and I continue to add new faces whenever I can.
